The Best Teabags for the Office
In our quest to provide the best teabags for the office (and anywhere for that matter), we ran a recent poll on tea at the office*, uncovering some fascinating truths about tea in the workplace. For example, did you know that 83% of people said they drink tea at least once a day, with 61% drinking multiple cups? That’s A LOT of tea.
It’s well-known that while also being hydrating, tea can have emotional and physical wellbeing effects. Without getting overly scientific, over 70% of you said that tea relaxes you, which is great to hear. Long may this continue. What was really interesting to us though were the stats around what’s happening with tea in the office environment. Here’s a few of them…

Tea in the Workplace
56% said the tea at work was average or poor – 12% of which don’t have any tea at work… can you imagine?
The biggest frustrations were:
+ limited variety 65%
+ poor quality 45%
+ lack of sustainable options 33%
With these frustrations in mind, 77% of you went on to reveal that it was important that your workplace offered high quality tea, while 85% believed that having better tea at work would improve their wellbeing.
And, get this, a whopping 93% thought that providing premium tea was an attractive perk with 87% of you admitting that your perception of your workplace would be more positive if they offered better tea.

Other Important Factors
85% of you said it was very important or important that their workplace tea options were sustainable and 59% of people said they have avoided office tea due to hygiene concerns.
Getting to read and understand your needs when it comes to tea was really important for us and we were comforted in knowing that our Silk Teabag range meets all of the requirements, though we continue to develop the technology behind our materials and also expand our offering. Is there anything we’re missing? We’d love to know.

And, while we have you here, we discovered that 98% of you said you drank tea in the morning, over 70% in the afternoon, and 40% in the evening. While you might already have your favourites, we’re firm believers in exploring and experiencing new things, so we’ve put together a list of our teabag flavours and why you might like to try something different – variety’s the very spice of life, after all.
